I have over 20 years of experience on both sides of the bar representing parties in pre-lit and litigation - representing Plaintiffs and Defendants in mediations, jury trials and bench trials.
After I graduated law school and passed the bar in 2001, I worked as a med-mal defense and personal lines automobile and homeowners defense attorney for 6 years - taking many depositions of parties and experts, attending mediations and trying cases to juries. After that, I opened my own practice and was a solo practitioner for 15 years. During this time, I represented clients in car accidents, motorcycle accidents, elevator accidents, slip and falls, breach of contract claims, DTPA claims, claims for unpaid wages, non-subscriber cases against employers, slip and fall claims of all types, attorney fee disputes, and many more. I have taken many cases to trial from small claims court to Harris County Court, to District Court in Harris County and surrounding counties, representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants, including insurance companies. I have tried cases to juries and to the bench. I have also represented clients in the Southern District of Texas. I continue to represent clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings.
Over the last 22 years, I have attended hundreds of mediations representing both defendants and plaintiffs. In January of 2022, I completed the 40-hour basic mediation training locally through South Texas College of Law. Since that time I have also obtained mediation and negotiation certificates through Harvard Program on Negotiation. In October of 2023, I obtained a second 40-hour mediation training certificate from MWI, an organization providing mediation and mediation training solutions nationally. I have successfully mediated many types of disputes such as car accidents, commercial breach of contract claims, landlord/tenant and eviction matters, will disputes, and medical malpractice claims. I have an over 95% success rate because I will continue to work for the parties in the days, weeks and even months following the mediation to help them reach an amicable resolution.
